This is an international conference organized by the French "Agence Nationale de Recherche" research project "Intégrabilté réelle et complexe en mécanique hamiltonienne" in cooperation with Hanoi University of Education.

VISA INFORMATION

Most foreigners need a visa to enter Vietnam, except for citizens of the following countries (please check with the Vietnamse Embassy in your country to make sure):
* Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland: for visits of up to 15 days.
* ASEAN countries: for visits of up to 21 days or 1 month, depending on the country.

If you need a visa to enter Vietnam and want us to take care of it for you, please send to Do Duc Thai (email address: ducthai.doATgmail.com) as soon as possible the following information (of yourself, and of any accompanying person):

1. Your surname and given names
2. Date and place of birth
3. Nationality
4. Professional address
5. Home address
6. Passport: number, date of issue, date of expiry, the issuing authority
7. At which Vietnamese Embassy will you pick up your visa ?
(all the above fields are mandatory)

Additional Info:

Since you will attend a conference in Vietnam, if you need a visa, the Vietnamese side will issue a kind of "official" visa for you. (Of course, you may also "do it yourself" and ask for a tourist visa at a Vietnamese Consulate if you wish).

Our local organizer Do Duc Thai (Prof. at Hanoi University of Education) will take care of this visa problem for the conference. He'll send a request to the Interior Ministry of Vietnam, with the list of foreign participants of the conference. The Interior Ministry will then issue an approval letter for each participant, send that letter by fax to the corresponding Consulate (where you want to pick up your visa), asking the Consulate to issue a visa for
you. Each letter has a reference number. We will inform you of the reference number. Then you can go to the Consulate or send your passport there, together with the reference number, and they'll issue the visa for you the same day.

The Interior Ministry of Vietnam takes a month to process the request, and since there will be long vacations in February (Chinese/Vietnamese new year) we will have to submit it by the end of this month to make sure that we have enough time !

HOTEL

This hotel is situated in a quiet street in the center of Hanoi (walking distance from many points of interest). It has a swimming pool (free access). The negotiated price is about $40/day/single room including breakfast.

We may also lodge 2-3 participants at the guesthouse of Hanoi Institute of Mathematics. (They have a small guesthouse with only 2-3 rooms, inside the institute).

If you prefer to reserve a hotel by yourself, please send an email to Do Duc Thai to let him know that, so that or local organizers will not reserve a hotel for you !

If you need a double room or a suite (for a family), or want to share a double room with another
participant, please also let us know!

Since the University is not in the center of Hanoi, we will request a special university bus to take the participants from the hotel to the university and back every conference day.

PLANE TICKETS

Due to an significant increase of the number of tourists in Vietnam, it may be
very difficult to reserve plane tickets for the dates that you wish at reasonable
prices. So please think about reserving your tickets as soon as possible !

Hint: Don't trust online travel agencies for tickets to Vietnam, because
those online portals don't show "negotiated prices" and show only more expensive
prices in general. Instead, call a "brick and mortar" agency and ask for best prices.

Our latest information is that the prices have increased from last year, and it now costs about 1000 Euro for a round trip Paris-Hanoi ou Saigon (taxes included) with Vietnam Airlines, and a bit higher with Air France. There are other options, e.g. with Singapour Airlines, Thai Airlines, Lufthansa, Japan Airlines, American Airlines (for the US), etc.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

We plan to have 2 minicourses of 3h each, 14 plenary talks of 1h each, and a number of 30m presentations. If need be, we will also organize a poster session. Below is a preliminary schedule:

SCHOOL

In the week 02-06/April/2007 preceding the conference, there will be a school intended mainly for graduate students and young researchers (to prepare them for the conference). The school will consist of 4 minicourses at basic level. Lecturers for the school are: Alain Albouy, Tudor Ratiu, Tadashi Tokieda, Alexei Tsygvintsev.

REGISTRATION

Please contact the organizers URGENTLY if you wish to attend the conference and your name is not in the list of participants yet.

A small registration fee ($80 or an equivalent amount in other currency, in cash, due on arrival) will be charged to the participants. This will cover the banquet, some lunches, and some other social activities, but not the hotel. This registration fee may be waived in some cases.

SOCIAL PROGRAM includes:

A conference banquet.
Excursion of Hanoi: Wednesday 11/Apr afternoon 14h-19h (visit of the Temple of Literature, "But Thap" Pagoda, etc.)
2-day excursion to Halong Bay: Saturday 14/Apr - Sunday 15/Apr (a special fee of $100 will be charged to each participant of this excursion). For those who have already been to Halong Bay, we may propose another excursion, e.g. to the old imperial city Hoi An.
